About this user

The Compulsive Lyres is a co-ed, self-directed a cappella group from the University of Michigan. In 2002, the Lyres became the first group from Michigan to win the largest collegiate a cappella championship in the country -- the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella -- and they remain the only group from Michigan to hold this honor.The Lyres have also made other appearances on the national level, performing on live television with "The Today Show", and they were featured on the 2002 "Best of Collegiate A Cappella" CD.

The Lyres' success as an a cappella group, however, did not end in 2002 -- the exciting and unique opportunities offered by membership in the Lyres have continued to this day. Just last year, they performed in front of thousands at the New Student Convocation in Crisler Arena, and were asked by artist Ben Folds to open for his live show in the Michigan Theater.
