Hi, I'm Lawrence. I'm very fond of music, especially jazz with flutes. I listen to a lot of music, collect music and am a 'flute hobbyist'.

I'm London-based, of Jamaican origin. Consequently, I'm very much influenced by vintage reggae music and dancehall, too!

I've been playing flute for over a year - mostly self-taught, although have had a few lessons.

My reason for uploading is to help motivate myself mainly. I enjoy YouTube and enjoy playing - thus, I feel it's important to upload something, rather than merely be a passive consumer.

I also use the flute as a tool to help ease the 'blues' that I've had.

The flute is a very purposeful hobby. You seek continuous improvement, onward development. It soothes the soul! It helps, by making one feel happy and taking the mind off things.

I hope to receive constructive criticism / advice on technique from other flautists. I'm not the best, but strive to be (one day).
It's difficult, but is so comforting and rewarding.

I'll eventually post recordings of myself playing pieces from flute books - attempting exam pieces, scales and etudes. PLEASE CRITICISE. Don't be too kind. I'll try to post '1st attempts', even with mistakes.

I listen to ANY music - finding most pleasure in jazz flute/sax/clarinet music. I first decided to buy a flute after watching the film 'Kes' (Harold McNair on the soundtrack!) I was greatly inspired - especially as he is also Jamaican.
