Actually the UK had Hong Kong Island, the outlying islands and Kowloon into perpetuity. The problem was it would have been impossible to divide the New Territories after 1997 because the infrastructure and population was so entwined.

Bring it all down. Collapse it. Kill it. Purge it. Rebuild it.

I was there. Hasselhoff was singing and some of the audience started to shoot fireworks at him. The whole night there were rockets being fired into the air. With the flashing jacket he became a natural target once one person fired. Hilarious.

I was in Sek Kong in 1988 (660 Sqn AAC). I remember working in that hangar shown at 0.38 and sweating my ass off trying to fix the bowsers. Good memories.

I was in the Army Air Corps in Hong Kong from 1986-88 and I worked with 3 guys from the HKMSC. They were paid half of what we were. They worked just as hard as we did if not harder. They deserved the freedom of choice of right of abode.
