Utah's population of wild turkeys has expanded exponentially since
the Division of Wildlife Resources began a significant transplant
program in the mid-1980s. Two species are now found in Utah -
Merriam's and Rio Grande. Spend the morning with Jon Leonard of the
National Wild Turkey Federation and Brett Prettyman of the Salt Lake
Tribune as they visit flock of wild turkeys near Mountain Green Utah.
Brett then visits with Dean Mitchell of the Division of Wildlife
about how the current populations grew to their current numbers and
what the future hold for wild turkeys.
