My name is Tyler Becks. I have a new album coming out but it was not an easy journey to get to this point...

The last year has been crazy! I started working on my music last summer, hoping to come out with an album called 'Just Getting There' that was originally going to be released in Fall of 2008. What happened instead was a battle with vocal problems that I'm still fighting.

During the problems, I was still able to write. I would write different songs about school situations I went through or something I was thinking about.

At the time, I was still planning on calling the album 'Just Getting There' with the idea that I was still in the starting stages of my career. It had the idea that I knew that my music wasn't perfect and I still had a long way to go... hence Just Getting There. But, whatever I did, I could never write the song. I tried and tried, but nothing came to me. I eventually went through an unforgettable experience that finally brought on my song 'Still Standing'.

I was in my room after school on Valentine's Day, having just gone through my biggest heartbreak. I took out a piece of paper and my guitar, and just started writing. The experience impacted me so much that it eventually became the title of the album. 'Still Standing' is about when you go through something that breaks you, but even through all of that, you still have the strength to move on. The title also stands for all of my experiences with vocal problems and people trying to push me down and that, through it all, I am staying true to myself.

My new album 'Still Standing' features 12 new songs, including my already released songs 'Better' and 'This Day'. It comes out on August 25th, 2009 on iTunes and Amazon. Be sure to check it out!
