water is key. I got a LifeStraw for $20, good for filtering 1000 liters supposedly and weighs 2 oz. katadyn makes good filters too, but much more expensive. Steripens might work as long, probably not a good long term solution. LifeStraw is hard to find in US, only two places have it got mine at g...
@ecod7r my understanding is that the filter size is of 0.2 microns, which does NOT effectively filter viruses. MANY filters share this pore size (lifestraw etc), and filtering viruses in North America is not super important unless your water is contaminated with human sewage.
man just get a LifeStraw water filter, its only $20, weighs 2 or 3 ounces - soooo much lighter and cheaper. greenbeetlegear online is only US retailer i can find. only downside is that it doesnt filter viruses, so you cant drink water contaminated with other people poo, but gets rid of bacteria ...
sheesh that multicam is so sharp!! i couldnt afford the GS2 so i got the X3 Lo-drag, not quite as swank but hey its still Eberlestock and still has a large sling like the GS2. couldnt find it locally so had to get it online!
demo the multicam next time, its beautiful!! greenbeetlegear sold me mine on the web, you guys need more of these in stores locally for people to handle.
I think the GS2 is a superior pack, but a less pricey consideration is the Eberlestock X3 Lo-Drag, nice wide rifle sling just like the GS2 for about $100 less. We dont have any local retailers in OK so its tough to try them out, had to get mine at a gun show from green beetle gear.
