Imagine combining the psychadelica of 70's Pink Floyd with the blistering guitar harmonies of 80's Iron Maiden. Update those classic sounds with the modern progressiveness of Opeth and Mastodon, top the blend with vocals from one of Philadelphia's most energetic and talented front-women, and you get Tungsten.
Tungsten is an up-and-coming progressive hard rock band formed in the summer of 2011. Featuring Madelaine Novak (Light Up Bettie, Heavies) on vocals, Mishah "Meesh" Salman (Pistolia, Nomad) on bass, JT Wieme (Willing Swords, The Rifle, Reverence) on drums, Justin Jones (Apex, Centralia, The Monroe Experiment) on keyboards, and Ben Grossberg and Jeff McCall on twin lead guitars, Tungsten is set to break out onto the Philly-area scene and show the world how female-fronted prog-rock can glow.
