HUMANITY, EQUALITY, FREEDOM, TOGETHERNESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, SOLIDARITY and SCIENTIFIC METHOD.

These were, are, and will always be, the principles of a communist.

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -Carl Sagan

.

"The first commandment of the historian: an event that has left no evidence of its
itself must be considered not to have occurred."

.

These two great discoveries, the materialistic conception of history and the revelation of the secret of capitalistic production through surplus-value, we owe to Marx. With these discoveries, Socialism became a science. The next thing was to work out all its details and relations.
-Frederick Engels [Socialism: Utopian and Scientific], 1880.

.

The foundation of irreligious criticism is: Man makes religion, religion does not make man. Religion is, indeed, the self-consciousness and self-esteem of man who has either not yet won through to himself, or has already lost himself again. But man is no abstract being squatting outside the world. Man is the world of man state, society. This state and this society produce religion, which is an inverted consciousness of the world, because they are an inverted world. Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopaedic compendium, its logic in popular form, its spiritual point dhonneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, and its universal basis of consolation and justification. It is the fantastic realization of the human essence since the human essence has not acquired any true reality. The struggle against religion is, therefore, indirectly the struggle against that world whose spiritual aroma is religion.

Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. RELIGION is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It IS THE OPIUM OF THE PEOPLE.

The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.
-Karl Marx [A Contribution to the Critique of Hegels Philosophy of Right], 1843

.

The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point is to change it.
-Karl Marx, 11th thesis on Feuerbach, 1845

ABOUT SOVIET UNION EXPERIENCE:

"We retreated to state capitalism, but we did not retreat too far. We are now retreating to the state regulation of trade, but we shall not retreat too far. There are visible signs that the retreat is coming to an end; there are signs that we shall be able to stop this retreat in the not too distant future. The more conscious, the more unanimous, the more free from prejudice we are in carrying out this necessary retreat, the sooner shall we be able to stop it, and the more lasting, speedy and extensive will be our subsequent victorious advance."

-V.I.LENIN, 5th November 1921, "Pravda" no.251,
"The Importance Of Gold Now And After The Complete Victory Of Socialism"

"Of course, in our Soviet Republic, the social order is based on the collaboration of two classes: the workers and peasants, in which the 'NEPmen', i.e., the bourgeoisie, are now permitted to participate on certain terms. If serious class disagreements arise between these classes, a split will be inevitable. But the grounds for such a split are not inevitable in our social system, and it is the principal tasks of our Central Committee and Central Control Commission, as well as of our party as a whole, to watch very closely over such circumstances as may cause a split, and to forestall them, for in the final analysis the fate of our Republic will depend on whether the peasant masses will stand by the working class, loyal to their alliance, or whether they will permit the 'NEPmen', i.e., the new bourgeoisie, to drive a wedge between them and the working class, to split them off from the working class. The more clearly we see this alternative, the more clearly all our workers and peasants understand it, the greater are the chances that we shall avoid a split which would be fatal for the Soviet Republic."

-V.I.LENIN, 23th January 1923, "Pravda" no.16,
"How We Should Reorganise the Wokers' and Peasants' Inspection"

"The general feature of our present life is the following: we have destroyed capitalist industry and have done our best to raze to the ground the medieval institutions and landed proprietorship, and thus created a small and very small peasantry, which is following the lead of the proletariat because it believes in the results of its revolutionary work. It is not easy for us, however, to keep going until the socialist revolution is victorious in more developed countries merely with the aid of this confidence, because economic necessity, especially under NEP, keeps the productivity of labour of the small and very small peasants at an extremely low level. Moreover, the international situation, too, threw Russia back and, by and large, reduced the labour productivity of the people to a level considerably below pre-war. The West-European capitalist powers, partly deliberately and partly unconsciously, did everything they could to throw us back, to utilise the elements of the Civil War in Russia in order to spread as much ruin in the country as possible. It was precisely this way out of the imperialist war that seemed to have many advantages. They argued somewhat as follows: "If we fail to overthrow the revolutionary system in Russia, we shall, at all events, hinder its progress towards socialism." And from their point of view they could argue in no other way. In the end, their problem was half-solved. They failed to overthrow the new system created by the revolution, but they did prevent it from at once taking the step forward that would have justified the forecasts of the socialists, that would have enabled the latter to develop the productive forces with enormous speed, to develop all the potentialities which, taken together, would have produced socialism; socialists would thus have proved to all and sundry that socialism contains within itself gigantic forces and that mankind had now entered in to a new stage of development of extraordinarily brilliant prospects."

DICTATORSHIP OF THE BOURGEOISIE: The most democratic bourgeois republic is no more than a machine for the suppression of the working class by the bourgeoisie, for the suppression of the working people by a handful of capitalists. Even in the most democratic bourgeois republic 'freedom of assembly' is a hollow phrase, for the rich have the best public and private buildings at their disposal, and enough leisure to assemble at meetings, which are protected by the bourgeois machine of power. The rural and urban workers and small peasants -- the overwhelming majority of the population -- are denied all these things. As long as that state of affairs prevails, 'equality', i.e., 'pure democracy', is a fraud. 'Freedom of the press' is another of the principal slogans of 'pure democracy'. And here, too, the workers know -- and Socialists everywhere have explained millions of times -- that this freedom is a deception because the best printing presses and the biggest stocks of paper are appropriated by the capitalists, and while capitalist rule over the press remains -- a rule that is manifested throughout the whole world all the more strikingly, sharply and cynically -- the more democracy and the republican system are developed, as in America for example... The capitalists have always use the term 'freedom' to mean freedom for the rich to get richer and for the workers to starve to death. And capitalist usage, freedom of the press means freedom of the rich to bribe the press, freedom to use their wealth to shape and fabricate so-called public opinion. In this respect, too, the defenders of 'pure democracy' prove to be defenders of an utterly foul and venal system that gives the rich control over the mass media. They prove to be deceivers of the people, who, with the aid of plausible, fine-sounding, but thoroughly false phrases, divert them from the concrete historical task of liberating the press from capitalist enslavement. .................................... MATERIALISM and EMPIRIO-CRITICISM Critical Comments on a Reactionary Philosophy: There are four standpoints from which a Marxist must proceed to form a judgment of empirio-criticism. First and foremost, the theoretical foundations of this philosophy must be compared with those of dialectical materialism. Such a comparison, to which the first three chapters were devoted, reveals, along the whole line of epistemological problems, the thoroughly reactionary character of empirio-criticism, which uses new artifices, terms and subtleties to disguise the old errors of idealism and agnosticism. Only utter ignorance of the nature of philosophical materialism generally and of the nature of Marxs and Engels dialectical method can lead one to speak of combining empirio-criticism and Marxism. Secondly, the place of empirio-criticism, as one very small school of specialists in philosophy, in relation to the other modern schools of philosophy must be determined. Both Mach and Avenarius started with Kant and, leaving him, proceeded not towards materialism, but in the opposite direction, towards Hume and Berkeley. Imagining that he was purifying experience generally, Avenarius was in fact only purifying agnosticism of Kantianism. The whole school of Mach and Avenarius is moving more and more definitely towards idealism, hand in hand with one of the most reactionary of the idealist schools, viz., the so-called immanentists. Thirdly, the indubitable connection between Machism and one school in one branch of modern science must be borne in mind. The vast majority of scientists, both generally and in this special branch of science in question, viz., physics, are invariably on the side of materialism. A minority of new physicists, however, influenced by the breakdown of old theories brought about by the great discoveries of recent years, influenced by the crisis in the new physics, which has very clearly revealed the relativity of our knowledge, have, owing to their ignorance of dialectics, slipped into idealism by way of relativism. The physical idealism in vogue today is as reactionary and transitory an infatuation as was the fashionable physiological idealism of the recent past. Fourthly, behind the epistemological scholasticism of empirio-criticism one must not fail to see the struggle of parties in philosophy, a struggle which in the last analysis reflects the tendencies and ideology of the antagonistic classes in modern society. Recent philosophy is as partisan as was philosophy two thousand years ago. The contending parties are essentially, although it is concealed by a pseudo-erudite quackery of new terms or by a feeble-minded non-partisanship, materialism and idealism. The latter is merely a subtle, refined form of fideism, which stands fully armed, commands vast organisations and steadily continues to exercise influence on the masses, turning the slightest vacillation in philosophical thought to its own advantage. The objective, class role of empirio-criticism consists entirely in rendering faithful service to the fideists in their struggle against materialism in general and historical materialism in particular. ..................................... You forget that DPRK army is no mercenary army, but a people's army, and of that it isn't strategically mobile as many would think. They have no intention of waging other wars except their own on their own land in their own DEFENSE, (as their moral right.)
And about advisors. Russia, China...etc all have adequate ample advisors that Iran probably already have "purchased" especially for the new weapons, it bought some time ago.
On the other hand if Iran was a socialist republic, naturally hated and isolated by the imperialist world, I think we would see DPRK first called in.

I'd like to see North Korea step up and help Iran defend itself against the cancer of capitalist imperialism. We have seen the true evil of NATO regarding Libya. Unfortunately, Libya was geographically isolated and could not be helped. Algeria could have helped Libya repulse NATO but, Algiers is run by cowards and capitalist lapdogs.

Iran is logistically within reach of North Korean aid! Kim Jong Il could fly in advisers and mercenaries. If Pakistan will commit to defend Iran, they could also provide staging areas for North Korean, where both could establish control over the Arabian Sea and deny U.S. access to the Straits of Hormuz.

I don't understand your statements? What natural manure? and what "worldwide revolution "?
wilddog9651 (3 months ago)
Capitalism is a fraud on hunanity, Karl Marx. I think that the time is right for worldwide revolution but whether it will ever come in this country is a matter of question. Thomas Jefferson said, "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. They are the natural manure...

"the preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government, are justly considered, if not more finally stocked in the experiment entrusted to the American people" George Washington.

Actually, as it was meant as such, of course funded by the lovable Capitalist world and its organization in the Cold War to support ideologically their own position. It was a double edged blade for them, because anyone ever involved into those 2 set of ambitions (bourgeois' and worker's), knows that world described could never be Socialist one, but one that comes from Capitalism itself, its last stadium, Fascism, where corporations (Rich few) control every aspect of life directly or indirectly trough the state...etc Because Socialism's only violent side is its birth, and not because people want it, but because Capitalist dont want it, and try to destroy it in every step of the way, by any means. Fact that you are not well acquainted about those two goals and ambitions is fact showing how successful Capitalist propaganda is masking reality in your own perception or you are just too young that you never came into contact with the worker's side...

You are indeed correct that 1984 was meant as a warning for the future, to stay away from state control and dangerous violent socialists, who hold it as the highest good in the world to use violence to achieve ones' ends.
