I'm a new Stevie Nicks fan. I hadn't heard a really talented female singer-songwriter until I went on YouTube about one month ago and watched a video posted by steviefreak69 entitled " Top 10 Female Artists Of All Time- Fair Use ". His favourite female singer-songwriter is Stevie Nicks and I didn't know who this woman was. I searched for some information on her discography and I decided to listen to her first solo album, Bella Donna. And I was marvelled by her voice and the quality of the songs. A real masterpiece. I had to listen to her second album and I wasn't disappointed. The Wild Heart is almost as wonderful as Bella Donna. So I went on and listened to Rock A Little. Different from the two previous ones but great too. The Other Side Of The Mirror ? Great too. And I wondered if Stevie had only written very good songs. Street Angel gave me the answer. No, Stevie wrote an average song, the last song of this album, Jane. The only song of Stevie that I heard and didn't love since Trouble In Shangri-La contains only excellent songs. I didn't listen to In Your Dreams. I have to. So I love 68 songs of her six first solo albums. 68 out of 69. I didn't think that I could love someone's music so much. steviefreak69 was right, Stevie is the best female singer-songwriter of all time. Unless I discover one day a woman who didn't write a single average song. To look for a needle in a haystack.
Many thanks to all the Stevie fans who posted videos of this supremely talented woman. I wouldn't have discovered her if you hadn't done this work. I have to listen to Fleetwood Mac's albums with her too. I don't see why she wouldn't have been as good in this group as in solo. But I hope that the two other singers-songwriters did a great job too. If so, Fleetwood Mac will become my favourite band.
