About this user

My name is Jacob Johnson and I am a local Virginia drummer formally of Ethereal Genocide.

I started playing drums when I was 3 spent much of that time in musical ignorance of other styles other than Rock and Metal to learn later of how much it crippled my playing. I play many styles of music outside the world of Metal i enjoy playing Jazz and Swing, Country and Blues, R&B, Pop and Soul, and of course what i'm most known for Rock, Punk, and Heavy Metal.

Currently I study Media Arts and Animation at the Art Institute and am looking to broaden my horizon in music and get my foot in the door as a studio musician.

My Influences in music are very broad and i tend to take them from everyone around me like people i play with or watch play.
I started playing drums because of being around the music scene in my area and my uncles band Outta Touch but as well because of Peter Criss of Kiss. The over the top performance and playing style took to me right away.
Nowadays i credit much influence to guys like Derek Roddy, Gene Hoglan, Mikkey Dee, Shannon Larkin, and Vinnie Paul.
I also site Chris Adler, Chip Ritter, George Kollias, Ash Pearson and Scott Travis as having a large effect on my playing in recent years
