About this user
Translink, Inc moves the world's energy future with leading-edge solutions for transporting dimensional freight, including wind turbine components and other large objects. Translink, Inc. uses state-of-the-art logistics equipment, storeage / laydown facilities, and innovative "Delivery-On-Demand" processes to efficiently move wind turbine blades, towers, and other components by rail or truck, from manufacturer, to laydown/storage facilities throughout the USA, to windfarm sites throughout North America.
Translink's unique equipment -- including the "Blade Train"-- , logistics planning and process saves time, labor, and cost, while increasing safety and minimizing component damage. Delivery-On-Demand significantly decreases the total cost of ownership of mechanically-operational wind turbine generators (MO WTGs) on wind farms.
Translink, Inc has successfully completed design, fabrication and testing of Translink, Inc's Universal Blade Transportation System.
Testing was conducted on a 45.3 meter curved blade and we expect it to clear 95% of North American rail destinations. The test results exceeded our expectations in both blade protection and rail clearance dimensions. The system is designed for all blades including those exceeding 65 meters in length.
