Tonereise is a new Norwegian band with deep roots in the oldest Norwegian folk music.

Tonereise is a new Norwegian band based on old, religious folk music from Norway, but strongly influenced by American country, roots, gospel, bluegrass, blues etc. On Tonereise's first album Arven (The Heritage) they have recorded several of the rare Christian folk tunes that the late folk musician Ragnar Vigdal is known for. The well known Norwegian musicians Knut Reiersrud and Rita Eriksen also play/sing together with Tonereise on this album.

Tonereise er eit norsk band med djupe røter i gamle, religiøse folketonar, men er også sterkt inspirert av amerikansk gospel, roots, blues, bluegrass og countrymusikk. Tonereise har no gitt ut plata Arven og dei fleste av sangane er nye utgaver av dei kristne folketonane som folkemusikaren Ragnar Vigdal i si tid samla.
