Excellent book. Liked the way she researched it by living it first hand. The AP, and honor students took to it very well. They thought it was a noble experiment and it engendered a lot of classroom discussion regarding justice and fairness.
Mark is an American prophet, with a subtle message. He doesn't take gold as payment for his message (just a fist full of change if you can spare it.) Only that we hear his music and remember what it means to be an American.
