Titan requires you to be patient and consistent throughout the fight and should not be rushed. Take your time and try to relax, block sensibly and attack according to amount of time Titan gives you in between attacks.
There are stand-out hazards when fighting Titan you must be aware of. One is the spear throw, an attack that will lock on to you and deal massive damage (if not instant death). To deal with this you must consider the distance between you and Titan. If you are a medium-to-long distance away you are able to dodge the attack by shield striking to the left at the moment Titan throws the spears. If you find yourself too close, you should play it safe and go into an XE attack.
The second hazard is the "weakness" status inflicted upon being hit during Titan's three-combo arm sweeps. This puts you in immediate danger and leaves you prone to another attack (likely leading to death). The best method is to run directly in the opposite direction of Titan, allowing as much time as possible to recover from the status. By the time Titan has reached you again you should have enough stamina to block the oncoming attack.
The best opportunities to hurt Titan is directly following a single arm sweep (you can land at least two blossom blows, three if you are sure you can block the next attack in time), and after he has finished his three sweep combo (again, blossom blows or a well aim amaranth). If you have distanced yourself away from Titan and he begins to walk towards you, you can wind up a smash attack followed by blocking immediately.
