Bravo ! Jefferson Airplane was one great rock band. Truly exceptional.

JA played The FieldHouse at UW Madison in early May 1970 and they were still at peak performance levels. This video is 6 months later and they've lost their center. Don't judge them by this. From late 1966 to mid 1970 they were on fire, probably the best live band in the world.

This classic song is more poignant now than it was in 1968. IMO the greatest band EVER.

The vocal are superb - you can hear humanity in Marty Balin's voice - and Jorma's guitar solo is stunning. Even Rolling Stone had to admit in their review of Volunteers that Jefferson Airplane Wooden Ships is truly " an epic performance. "
