I work for the campaign, and our stance is to vote NO on Amendment 2, and urge everyone to do the same. We know this is a thinly veiled evangelical Christian attempt at trying to get an anti-gay marriage amendment into the Florida constitution, but the affect of Amendment 2 also would target hetero-sexual couples restricting their rights too. No, it's a bad amendment, designed to try and drive evangelicals to the polls for McCain/Palin, and Cliff Stearns, as usual, the Karl Rove strategy of divide and conquer.

I'd like to know your stance on GLBT rights as well. Do you support the Florida "Marriage Protection" Amendment?

How about abortion? Stem cell research? These are just a few of the issues that turned me off to your opponent, but I don't know where you stand on them.

What about the issue of equal rights for GLBT people. Gainesville(Ocala's siter-city) has a city ordinance protecting GLBT citizens from discrimination in housing, and employment based on one's sexual orientation. Would you support an anti discrimination ordinance for the city of Ocala to protect the rights of the GLBT community? This is a very important issue facing not only our city, but our country as well.
