Panthera tigris virgata is a subspecies of tiger native to Turkey/Iran/Azerbaijan/Georgia that went extinct in the 1970s. The last known specimen was proudly shot and displayed by a villager in Turkey. Now tigers as a species are on the verge of extinction. There also used to be lions and leopards in Turkey. The Romans took care of the lions. The last leopard (also a subspieces unique to Turkey: Panthera pardus tulliana) was also destroyed by villagers about thirty years ago. Aren't you guys really excited about our world's glorious future? Oh, wait a minute, the only place possibly being habitable by mammals by 2100, according to scientists will be Antarctica because of global warming. We might as well wipe off all life on earth if it is in our interest(?!?!?!), if we don't global warming will do it anyways.
