Saw Killing Joke several times in Northampton (Roadmender) in early 80s (bit of a blur really) and they were superb. The atmosphere in small venues like the roadmender was brilliant (threatening/intimidating) and when supported by bands like the Poison Girls couldn't be bettered.

Saw the boys in Northampton decades ago when spitting was the rage and Jello gobbed back at the crowd and after being drenched said (in American accent) "Aye Gueesss aye asked fur thaat"
Best Bauhaus by far - My sister in law went out with Danny Ash in 80s - remember the Hurst picking her up for dates very well. Saw the boys play in Northampton many times before any recognition.
An old B'stard
