Growing up thru the '80s (my adolescent years) the modern heavy metal scene exploded. First came glam and hair metal, then came the big thrash metal scene by '87. (it started a few years earlier, but really hit big by '87 or so, as more bands started appearing). Well, I started checking a few out after I heard "Peace Sells..." during a HS football out-of-town bus trip. And thrash metal became my favorite genre of music...period. My tastes changed thru the years, especially the '90s, when I went from liking a bit of grunge to the Floridian death metal scene to classic rock in the late '90s. But it wasn't until '04 or so that I started getting back into true metal when I discovered Iced Earth. From there, I started building a respectable CD collection. I had not had any CDs up until then. And only because cassettes were finally being phased out.

For a few years there, I was really big into power metal. And thought this is the new wave of metal, but in '07 or so, we started seeing a thrash revival and I couldn't be happier.

So with this Channel, I plan on providing a good selection of thrash metal from bands that everybody knows, to some who are not as well known. From new to old. Thnaks to the revival, a lot of old OOP CDs from bands that didn't make it past the grunge era, they are getting re-releases in recent years, and so I'm picking up several bands that I missed out on back in the day.
