About this user
I am a progressive democrat, who advocate the ethical and moral responsibilities of both the government and the business sectors to improving the well being of all Americans- especially the most under privileged citizens. I believe that all Americans must take proactive roles in and taking our country back to being the world's most prominent leader.
As much as I believe in social justice and economic equality, an individual's pursuit for happiness and bigger self accomplishments merit equal level in a democratic society.
My mother is a Filipino, who was borne in Manila but raised in the US since she was three. My father is a six-generation Irish with Cherokee Indian mix. Both my parents divorced and remarried, when I was ten. My mother was remarried to a wonderful person, who treated me and my siblings like his own. My stepbrother stayed with him (us) while his two sisters lived with their mother and stepfather. My father remarried twice after separating from us.
My siblings and I were closer with my stepfather than we were with our father. My stepfather is of German, Dutch and Irish descent. He is a Vietnam veteran. His untimely demise in 2006 caught us in absolute surprise. We could not reconcile how a healthy and active man, who had not shown any sign of heart disease would pass away at the blink of an eye from a massive heart attack. We missed him dearly.
I am a proud American of Filipino, Irish and Cherokee Indian descents. I Diversity is a very important aspect of my humanity and of my being an American. I love my mom's cooking, but my lola's Filipino cooking is the best. I love dining out and trying different types of cuisines. I am into team sports. Playing baseball and basketball with my friends are my favorite activities. Of course, spending romantic moments with my one and only babe, Christina. During winter, my siblings, stepbrother, Christina and I go to either Colorado or Vermont to ski and snowboard. I travel a lot and enjoy it.
I graduated w/ degrees in Finance & Economics in Philadelphia, M.A. in Leadership and Organization at Fordham, MFA majoring in Film at NYU/Tisch. I have received a digital film and video editing scholarship grant with concentration in animation and graphics design. Similarly, I have received another grant in completing my research on how South East Asian Nations have redesigned their social, economic and political policies and implementation strategies after the cold and hot war eras, and identify and evaluate the effects of the creation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in the redesigning process of the member countries' economic and social development and progress. I have worked in the business sector- management, accounting and finance- prior to teaching film and working in film projects. I have likewise worked for the UNHCR and the US State Dept. Most importantly, immediately after the demise of my stepfather, I have been involved in the management of my mother's rental properties. One of her lessors is a big music recording company.
