Hello Thjeko,
I'm a young (22) amateur runner and I'm writing to you to get a piece of advice. I intend to start running with pose method and I'd like to know if it is possible not to (completely) give up running with regular cushioned shoes (mine are the Glycerin 9 from Brooks). If it may help you, I did athletics for 3 1/2 years when I was a teenager so I'm not a total novice. I'm able to run a semi-marathon in less than 2 hours and I'm an underpronater.

PS: I see you're from the Netherlands...cool, I ran the Rotterdam Marathon in 1992- 2:58. First one, but not done one since due to injuries.

Yes, it's important to analyse your biomechanics to improve technique, and as a former 32.05 10K (cross-country) runner suffering with long-term achilles problems I wish that my running technique had been analysed-it may have avoided injury. I feel many runners fall into the trap of doing too much too soon, especially if overweight and coupled with their bad technique fail to take a longer stride because they have done very little core leg work prior to running. I work on lunges now..and stretch like mad. Good YT site, thanks.

Amazing Technique videos you have taught me to learn how to run better form. Mostly, I love barefoot running that helps a lot difference than wearing any shoes. I wore EZ belts that I have been using every once a while to remind myself in the same correct of running form. I also wear the Luna Sandals and Zemgears socks are useful to protect the feet soles, which is a bit easier for me. Barefoot running is the most fun part than wear any kind of running shoes. learned a lot from you! Good job Jacky!! Thank you :)

Hi jacky! great information and fantastic videos! i love running long distances nowadays as before used to be more of a sprinter...so my question is what is your view on fast and slow twitch muscle fibres ansd do you think that to be a great long distance runner is greatly due to genetics and certain body typesi.e ectomorphs..im wondering if you think that some one with usain bolts body type could do well running long distance and if so what advice would you share..many thanks .jason .
