Hi there

We got word that youre a fellow Atheist and wanted to invite you to our community. Do you know that you belong to the largest minority group in the country (16%), even over Hispanics, Blacks and Jews? Thats pretty significant considering the strides those groups have made in gaining their civil rights over the century.

Convincing Atheists to organize around a single cause, however, has been likened to herding cats, since the people who comprise the Atheist group are as diverse as the cultures of the world. Even within national and racial groups, there are individuals who have their own unique interests and pursuits, which do not match the preconceived ideas associated with them; some of those people happen to be Atheist.

It can be difficult to find common ground for such a wide range of personalities and backgrounds, but we all share the experience of feeling isolated due to our refusal to accept arbitrary claims based on zero evidence. We cannot be convinced of something simply because we have the threat of eternal damnation looming over our heads; we require proof and are not sorry for it. We value our minds and refuse to sacrifice them on the alter of faith. We are THINKING people who are moral because morality makes sense, not because we are afraid of being punished for immorality.

At www.ThinkAtheist.com, we invite you to be a part of a community of people who have different interests, but unite around a lack of belief in archaic fairy tales that have very little (if any) practical advice for our lives today. We want to be acknowledged in the world at large and given a voice; we should not have to fake it to make it. We want the misconceptions of Atheism broken, and we want to help those who have been intimidated into keeping silent about their belief in REALITY.
