Adriaan, ik heb net even geluisterd en wat een prachtige opname zeg ! Hij geeft er zoals gewoonlijk een persoonlijk tintje aan en het is gewoon een genot om naar te luisteren.

And again I'm so happy that this recording is available on Youtube. He plays everything in his own style with so much passion. Thanks to these kind of recordings Feike will always be amongst us.

Thanks for re-uploading this recording. We noticed that the copyright mafia removes a lot of recordings from the Notre Dame, while we have no problems with putting them on Youtube this way. Of course it's great if people buy the CD and support us that way, but if people enjoy it and/or get inspir...

@kboojohnston Simple answer: yes it's possible with a symphonic organ and a piano ! I don't have the sheets for you, but probably Google might help you out. Good luck if you're going to try this !

@dedrickstreit However the organ still sounds pretty impressive and superior to many other intruments, it requires maintenance. You're right about the "bottom c", but there's also the Chamades which need to be tuned. You will hear for yourself if you have the luck to experience the organ in perso...

@analyzingfunny It' s called a registrant. Very common on the traditional mechanical organs and even on the electro-pneumatic organs they are a great help. Especially the ones with ADHD :)

Olivier played this piece during the inauguration of the great organ in the 90's. It still gives me shivers to see him perform as young as he was there. Now I'm lucky enough to play it myself there or on the beautifull Cavaille-Coll godess of all organs. The grand orgue in Rouen :)

Played with so much life in it on one of the English beauties ! As one of the organists of the NDdP I can say that it' s very tempting to pull out the chamades in their full glory at the end, but this rendition is great too, without all that musical violence ;) Wonderfull !
