@Theobe80, The temple/church is a dwelling place where people/believers can come and fellowship and worship, this will always be the case.
But I believe that hatred/dislike of religion happens when in some faiths or denominations of a religion become focused on the do's and the don'ts of that religion in a way that doesn't show love like the pharisee's. The pharisees were people who were extremely knowledgeable in the law of God and basically did those things just because it made them look good, not from a place of love. Jesus condemned them in Matthew 23:28 saying 'Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.'
