The King's Head Theatre is a maverick among theatres. A 135-140 seater theatre situated in Islington's historic, 19th century King's Head pub, the theatre was founded in 1970 by Dan Crawford.
Widely regarded, by critics and audiences alike, as one of London's premiere venues out side the westend a performance space which fosters a distinctive intimacy between audience and performer. The King's Head Theatre is one of a small handful of venues whose work is constantly of a high standard, resulting in a fervently loyal audience of significent size, drawn London-wide as well as from within the local borough of Islington.
