An 'INDEX' can be defined as A 'LIST' or 'TABLE' of 'CONTENTS'. Viewed as such the YouIndex, can be regarded as an index, highlghting important, 'INFORMATION'. To 'ASSIST' 'YOU' in your 'RESEARCH' we suggest you use our 'EXTENSIVE' 'PLAYLISTS'.

The plural, 'INDEXES' or 'INDICES' in mathematics is a figure indicating the 'POWER' of a mathematical entity.

If 'KNOWLEDGE' is 'POWER' - then 'INFORMATION' / the 'SOURCE' of that 'POWER' - IS 'WEALTH' - however any information which is shorn of its 'CONTEXT' / 'SUBJECT CATEGORIES' - is 'WORTHLESS'/ 'MEANINGLESS'.

Our 'AIM' is to 'FACILITATE 'POWER' ('EMPOWERMENT') by being a 'STORE' of 'INFORMATION' - 'PLACED' within a 'MEANINGFUL CONTEXT'......'ENABLING' the 'CONNECTING' of the 'DOTS'........'by the 'CURIOUS' INDIVIDUAL' - 'UNDERSTANDING IT' - 'BEING'a 'DIRECT'and 'INDIVIDUAL' 'EXPERIENCE' to 'MAKE'/ 'CREATE of it what you 'WILL' - ' 'NOT' 'MEDIA - TED' through 'ANY' 'FORM' of 'ORGANISATIONAL/'CONTROL'.

During the time of the Roman Catholic Inquisition, the 'INDEX' referred to the list of 'PROHIBITED', 'BOOKS', which contained 'FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE', 'IDEAS' & 'THEORIES', which the ecclesiastical authorities, sought to prevent the populace from reading.

The forms of modern 'CENSORSHIP' are however, far more subtle. We live in a world where there is an abundance of 'INFORMATION', which on the face of it, is both easily available, and accessible. Should we all not therefore in general be 'BETTER' 'INFORMED' - 'WISER?' - If one considers the state of the general populace, the evidence would seem to suggest, that this is not the case.

It seems that it is this very ABUNDANCE' of 'INFORMATION' which provides for the 'MODERN' 'MECHANISMS' of 'CONTROL.

There is the skillful use of 'MEDIA/ted 'INFORMATION' &' 'MANIPULATION' of ''CONTENT'.
There is the 'GROTESQUE' 'DISTORTION' of 'HUMAN VALUES' through a 'PROCESS' of 'EMOTIONAL' 'DE-SENSITIZATION', and 'TRIVIALIZATION' of 'IMPORTANT' 'SUBJECTS/' 'TOPIC'S. This 'PROCESS' is today styled 'ENTERTAINMENT'.

There are 'EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS', designed to 'DESTROY', 'CRITICAL THINKING' and 'ENTERTAINMENT' which revels and glorifies, 'IGNORANCE......We Could go on.

'FREEDOM' OF 'SPEECH/EXPRESSION' has been and continues to be 'SUBTLEY' undermined, through various forms of 'OPEN CENSORSHIP' and 'SELF-CENSORSHIP'. But perhaps of greater importance is the 'CENSORSHIP' OF 'IGNORANCE' - since how can you 'EXPRESS', that of which you are 'UNAWARE? 'CRITICISE' that which you are unable to 'COMPREHEND'? - Due to a lack of 'CRITICAL FACULTIES/THINKING'? - The latter we believe is the most 'PERNICIOUS' and most 'DEADLY' form of 'CENSORSHIP', and it has been 'DELIBERATELY', 'CULTIVATED', by most of our 'SOCIETIES' INSTITUTIONS'.

It has been and continues to be a 'GENERAL' and 'GLOBAL' 'TREND', of which the 'FAILINGS' of the 'MASS MEDIA' is but A 'PARTICULAR' 'EXAMPLE'........Hence TheYouIndex....

To conclude there is another use of the term 'INDEX', which we feel is appropriate to this Channel - and that is the 'INDEX' 'FINGER' - used to 'POINT' or 'INDICATE' a 'DIRECTION'/ 'WAY' or used in 'IDENTIFYING' an 'OBJECT' - as being, 'THIS' or 'THAT'.

We would like to feel that this Channel is rather like that - pointing the viewer in the 'DIRECTION of 'USEFUL' 'INFORMATION'.
