I lay in my bed in the stillness of the night -

Knowing that something just doesn't feel right -

I call for my mom cause I hear a noise -

And I doubt it's one of my toys -

Maybe it's a monster under my bed -

My mom tells me it's all in my head -

She tells me to go back to sleep -

But I can't, so she tells me to count sheep -

Those monsters just won't get out of my mind -

So I ask my mom to look under the bed and see what she can find-

A shoe I've been missing for quite some time -

A half-eaten apple and a dime -

No monsters under here, you'll just have to trust me on this -

It's only seconds later, that our pet cat Felix -

Scampers out from under my bed -

I know now it wasn't in my head -

Mom says some monster he turned out to be -

I say goodnight mom, NO MORE MONSTERS for me -
