I'm continuing to burn the midnight oil, kupo! As you can see, I've been farming some Gil, 1 mil to be exact. I did that in Cerobi Steppe and it took around 7 hours, I fully charged a Dark Matter in the process. In this part I fight 5 hunts, all of which can be quite tricky and/or take a long time. With 28 hunts done I am now a High Guardian (Clan Rank)
Fafnir: This sucker has 1,3 mil HP! But... It's one of the easiest hunts in the game thanks to Reflect. Simply stand by at a distance from Fafnir with Ruby ring equipped with Vaan. Also be sure to use Reflect with Vaan on Balthier. You can also shoot with Balthier if you want to. The fight lasted for 20 minutes so I edited together all the Shocks he used on himself due to Reflect.
Gil Snapper: Quite easy but, his weakness is water which is a weak spell so I used Gil toss. My usual strategy was used here.
Darksteel: Heh, this one was funny. I noticed the pillars when entering the room and I was pretty sure they could be used, so I tried getting him stuck and it worked!
Lure him towards a pillar. (Must be one of the 2 which are furthest from the wall to the west) Now make a quick turn around the edge as he attacks you, he will try to turn around the edge and follow you but he will end up getting stuck. When he is stuck use Poison on him, remember to cure Disease if you use Niho + Remedy because it will only weaken Poisons damage when his HP decreases.
In critical we have to use another trick to finish him since he has a 20% or less Darkga Gambit, which will kill you in 2 blows and you won't be able to do anything while he uses it. Disease him at critical and he won't be critical anymore since his current HP becomes his max HP, neat huh? At this point Poison won't hurt Darksteel much because his max HP is so low so spam some Gil at him until he falls.
Wild Malboro: Actually a hard battle... Start by using Warp on the small Malboros and use the usual decoyed Famfrit strategy against Wild Malboro alone. Ribbon comes to a great help here, as for Famfrit who is immune to everything. In critical Wild Malboro will fully recover his HP with a spell called Soul Etude, this totally sucks but can be dodged by killing him fast. Niho + Remedy him and he will waste a turn curing it and will get a few status effects along the way, this comes in handy as well.
Carrot: Same strategy as with Wild Malboro.
