"You don't sound like a duo... "

Westbound, the highly energetic, two-piece band from Houston, TX, has left that impression a time or two.
This collaborative effort between Rebecca Ferguson and John Stoll began as a hobbyist pastime in the summer of 2008. By 2009, it exploded into an effort of expression, growth and creativity. 2010 finds the pair touring regionally in the Southeast, in support of their recently-released album 'Blackjack Road'.

Originally trained in classical and choral singing, Rebecca strayed from that path and began finding her true voice in blues, americana and some kind of southern raunchiness that no one has managed to put a name on yet. From there, she developed a love of songwriting, fascinated by the endless potential a song has to tell a story.

John has played different instruments in rock bands all over Texas for the last 17 years. He approaches music with a fire and a passion matched by nothing else in his life, so much so that he regularly and happily loses both sleep and guitar strings in the quest to take the music higher.

Together the two share an extraordinary musical chemistry. In this ever-evolving configuration, John plays acoustic guitar and harmonica, sings backup vocals, and kicks the hell out of a very unique and crowd-pleasing stomp-box. Rebecca holds the audience captive with a versatile voice suited for everything from nasty blues to sweet serenades.

You can catch Westbound playing just about every week in bars, festivals, artist markets, open mics and living rooms throughout Houston, Galveston, Clear Lake and Austin, TX.
