About Me:
Tee Verse was exposed to music at a very early age when he spent most of his playtime learning new dance moves and singing. Tee believed every sound had a story to tell and it was his place as a "music translator" to narrate this story to others through his dance and voice. Born and raised in Cameroon, West Africa, Tee is from humble beginnings, raised by a soldier and a "then-housewife". He was an only child for eight years and this sparked his mind toward creative ways to play, and entertain himself. Thus making up stories and keeping his mind as creative as possible.
At thirteen, Tee was adopted by US citizens after the death of his father. Traumatized by the experience Tee found the need to express himself or just tell someone how he felt. It was at the age of 16 that he found out music was the easiest way to make this happen. So he began writing and dedicated himself into melodies. After writing for so many years, he decided to make his first public break in 2008 where he performed at a party in New York City, R&B Reloaded.
Later in 2009, Tee met a Virginian producer The Gym who decided to record a few songs with him. They led on to a project which was featured on a France released mix-tape by THE FRESHMAN leading to various rankings on French Underground music charts with the single "Real" where Tee Verse featured as Tee Slam along with A2z
In 2010, Tee Verse decided to retreat from music to re-invent himself as an artist and better establish his foundation. It was then that he changed his name from Tee Slam to Tee Verse which he described in an interview with Fleet for Peace Radio in 2011 saying, "Tee is taken from my middle name. Everyone has always called me that. Verse represents the artist in me who is diverse and basically universal when it comes to my choice in genre and musical concepts. I'm the guy you look at and say I wonder what he's going to do next."
In 2011, Tee started his debut project, "Twenty-Five Bones" which is set to be released some time in 2011. He released a single titled, "The Regret Song" which so far has been quite an anthem in a few Rockville and Gaithersburg Open-mic bars. The song was also selected to be featured on the Empire State Mix-tape released by Akon and Konvict Music. It is currently playing on two online radio stations and has been performed at a few local parties. IT was not until November 4th, when Tee Verse met with the CEO of Zobe/New Nation Entertainment and signed a contract for a year which will help expand his influence in the DMV. Tee is currently recording the rest of the songs in collaboration with Collabo Music Group in DC and says the project will be an Extended Play record, and his next record rumored to be titled "Some More". The name "Twenty-Five Bones" was gotten when Tee wrote down the various things that made the artist in him unique. He could only list twenty five traits so stated that if the artist in him were to have a skeleton, that skeleton will have twenty-five bones, hence the name of the mix-tape.
Tee sees this as the very beginning of what will someday be a pleasant memory. He looks forward to making great music and letting the world be aware of something worth pausing life for. And when asked for where he saw himself in ten years, he stated, "Exactly where I see myself in twenty years...making good music".
