ਬਾਬਾਣੀਆ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ਪੁਤ ਸਪੁਤ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥
बाबाणीआ कहाणीआ पुत सपुत करेनि ॥
The stories of one's ancestors make the children good children. (951)
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਉ ਖੁਦਾਇ ਕਾ ਦਿਲਿ ਹਛੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥
नानक नाउ खुदाइ का दिलि हछै मुखि लेहु ॥
O Nanak, chant the Name of God, with heart-felt devotion. (141)
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਿਨ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਪੇਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਗਰਭਾਸਿ ਨ ਪਰਿਆ ਰੇ ॥ गुरु नानकु जिन सुणिआ पेखिआ से फिरि गरभासि न परिआ रे.
Those who have heard, and seen Guru Nanak, do not descend into the womb of reincarnation again. (612)
