Hi,

My name is Benjamin Eric Harrer. Most people just refer to me as plain ol' "Ben." Some people who have known me since I was a child refer to me as "Benji." I wasn't too fond of the nickname in the past. In the days of my childhood, there was a movie that had become popular years before I was born. Years later it was still a hit among kids my age in elementary school. For those of you who haven't already figured out which movie I am talking about, it was called "Benji the Dog." At times I was referred to as "Benji" along with the words "the dog." [:/]

Many people ask me the question, "What are you?" This question is obviously in regard to my ethnicity, otherwise I would simply say, "a child of God just as you are." I find myself answering the question quite often. I figured I'd address the question for those of you who are curious, to save you the time from having to ask [:)]

So to answer the question, my father is German(born in Mannheim, Germany) & my mother is Filipino & Spanish(born in Iloilo, Philippine Islands). I was born and grew up in the great land of United States of America. I currently reside in Southern California.

I'm just a simple guy that writes and plays music for a hobby. I battled with immense anxiety when I first started playing. My legs would shake uncontrollably if I knew people were around and might be listening. Deep down inside I often wondered how people would react if I played for them. Although I refrained from singing in my real voice around others, I would often sing in a funny voice. This allowed me to sing without worrying about what others might think. Eventually my faith overpowered my doubt and I started to sing in my natural voice. I'm still striving to overcome my stage fright. I still get very nervous while recording my own videos which some people may find funny. I happen to find it quite comical. Maybe I'll show some bloopers in the future. I've been starting to feel less anxiety the more I perform, although I'm only playing in front of a couple strangers at the local park about once a month. I'm progressing slowly but surely. I started writing my own music in 2009. Since then I have created enough songs for multiple albums. It is my hope that I will be able to release a CD in the future. I am grateful for the ability to create music. I've finally decided to start sharing my music with others on YouTube. I apologize for the quality of my first couple of videos. I haven't purchased a mic yet and bought a used camera on craigslist, which I use to record, so the quality of the recordings is currently not at the standard I would like it be. I plan to record and upload better quality videos in the future. In the mean-time, I hope you enjoy my simple recordings. Better simple recordings than no recordings right? [:)]

Music has a way of helping to relax one's mind, warm one's heart, and soothe one's soul. It is my hope that my music will be able to do just that [:)]
