In Iraq, they didn't want our democracy. They still suspect we were only there for the oil. I suspect Rubio is right and we were there for freedom, but they don't, and 100,000 of them died so its hard to say they're wrong.

If you could put up a sample ballot, that'd be really cool. The US ballots normally show the candidates for the office with a dorky picture. What are German ballots like?

Both styles are fine if you know what to expect. The only problem is when you expect one thing and get another. Once you know you can waive the waitor down and ask for more beers and its not rude at all, all is good.

@trilobright Good call. Real American beers are pretty decent, Sam Adams as a prime example. It's European owned multinationals like SAB-Miller, AB-Inbev and Molson Coors that are piss "american" beers.

I think it's better to do it for more than a semester and with no one from your home country or not many from your home country. That way, you have time to meet others and can't just hang out with your own nationality, which is sometimes far easier.

We borrow money from Socialist Sweden. Socialist Norway is rich. Germany is close to socialism and they're doing quite well. Canada too.
