We don't have any sirens at all that I know about, so they scare the crap out of me. Can you tell me is this a secret on they are working on, a new one for tornados, or we just don't know. Of course the secret one isn't secret, but I mean is the an alterior motive than tornados that anyone knows of?

That depends a lot on the manufacturer of the ICs you're using. You'll have to check the data sheets. The ones I am using are the CD4000 family (by Texas Instruments) which can use 3 to 18V. I've seen some as strict as only working with one voltage like 5.5V. I'm using 12V since that's the minimum for the amplifier I am using.
