I'm curious, is there any time where the director pay for its own movie or play? I thought that every one of them tried to find sponsors and producers to give money for the movie.... or am I missing something? How is the AVGN different?

Well I would expect for the AVGN to earn money and reach the next "status" level as a filmmaker so he can fund more and more videos eventually...
