Machine code refers to the ones and zeroes that the computer can understand. It predates "programming". They are used as synonyms though. I think coding evokes the art and mystery of it, while programming sounds boring and lame. It's only pretentious if you think computer science should be relegated to the lame bin.

English is my first language and I'm not entirely certain what the song is about. I thought at first it might be about a a girl being exploited by a pimp who she is in love with. Or a woman cheating with a man who gives her something that her family doesn't, or maybe it is about drugs, who knows. I think the best songs are open to interpretation. In America pimps are often called "daddy" by their hookers. Apparently in the UK daddy can mean heroin.

@BigLaxFan94 - No one is going to argue that dealing with bureaucracy is easy...But I think there are also other issues, like engineering constraints. I've read about some areas where the engineers say, we can't build a water treatment centre here because of the location. Some communities have been given offers to re-locate to a place where a water treatment could be built, but they don't want to because of the history of forced relocations and their connection to the land.
