@ RTP gardenguy....I planted collards, cabbage, and brocolli plants at the end of August/beginning of September. I will try to find out for you exactly when I put them in my raised beds. I know what your thinking...I thought it seemed a little early, but I kept seeing the plants at the home garden centers, so I went ahead and planted them. As you already know, you have to stay on top of watering with those raised beds. I made sure that I watered them and they do get shade in the late afternoon from some trees I have near my garden space. I will post some images. I have already harvesting some of my lower collard leaves and they were really good, but I really want the frost to hit them because I hear that it makes them sweeter. I hear we might get frost this weekend. I harvested my first head of brocolli this past Monday...it was very good!

Oh, one question. When did you plant your cabbage this fall? I planted October 1st and think that was too late...
