Svankmajer: Just to clarify, I never stated (explicitly nor implicitly) that there is anything "unanarchistic" about Chomsky. (On a side note, wouldn't the term "archistic" avoid the double-negative?) I did not claim Chomsky wants to directly ban porn. My comment was carefully crafted to stay true to the video with Chomsky.
It is interesting that you mention Chomsky's age as a possible influence. That could be spot on, but is he not also a defender of homosexuals, which was not part of mainsteam enculturation during his upbringing?
As for Chomsky and porn, its important to mention that Chomsky never claimed porn should be banned by the state (or any other authority), so there's nothing "un-anarchistic" about it that way.
I think his point is that if there was a better market for jobs women wouldn't choose to do porn as much. Not sure if your views on sex has much to do with anarchism. Good question though. Its kind of like feminism perhaps.. the second wave of feminism in the 60s was sex-negative.. and the third wave nowadays is much more pragmatic about sexuality and porn. Chomsky is an old man now, and even if he's by no means "outdated" now, he still is a result of his time.
