Music is my soul, my first love, my life I've got the voice of a singer, but the soul of a violinist.
My violin story started out as a fascination. A hobby. But on a fateful day in February of 2008, I saw Joshua Bell in concert. It was then and there I made up my mind. I wanted to become better at violin and perform around the world, bringing happiness to people.
I love performing in both singing and violin! I am also very fortunate to be a student of the Legendary Claude Black, a renowned Jazz pianist. He is an amazing musician and an inspiration as well as a mentor.
Simply put, I couldn't choose between Voice and Violin... So I decided to do both. I am Toledo's very own Singing Violinist! I do what I love, and love what I'm doing. Most of all, I'm in love.... With music
I'm in love with playing the violin. I also enjoy singing to make people happy. Jazz is where my heart is. As for violin, I will usually find myself playing Bach or Mozart. But Haydn's concerto no 2 is my favorite piece, hands down. I'm also very much in love with playing Monti's Csardas, and some Paganini by ear.
On a random note-(no pun intended...) I guess you can say I love to make movies... I also adore photography as well. Being on camera is fun, but the real joy is being behind the camera, and getting to experience the magic firsthand.

About Me:
I'm more or less self-diagnosed.... Mostly b/c my shrink won't give me a definitive answer=,=..... SO, I went online and did some research. I came across an article/list of symptoms. And the majority described me completely. What made me laugh was the "has strong food preferences" the people around me can confirm. The only pizza I will eat is Papa Johns, and I will only drink Diet Coke, NOT Diet Pepsi or any off brands. I love the taste. Also, the "bulldog" personality is true.
Although I'm very shy, people are very surprised when I tell them. Its like I "turn my brain off"(a Malcom in the middle thing) and push myself into being a caffeinated social butterfly. I finally gave in and told people I'm an Aspie. I didn't for over a year and a half since I've been at U of Toledo, and it won me "Mae is a schizo and bipolar... EWWWWW" kind of reaction. SO, I told people. I mainly didn't tell them b/c I didn't want to be pitied or known as "that autistic girl" or for classmates and teachers to treat me as someone with a handicap. I'm just someone who's a little bit different. I'm lacking in social skills, but I make up for it by having near absolute pitch and "having the best ear/rote" according to my music theory teacher. When he said that I was actually flattered by it- I started to wonder if I had some form of dyslexia-yes, I did not have a very good segue from music theory to dyslexia... I think- which prevents me from reading music.
Since I'm a violinist, thats not a good thing. My dream is to become a violin major. But in order for that to happen I have to be able to sightread to a degree. I'm getting better. I do not have ADD/ADHD, though when it comes to practicing etudes and learning pieces I get distracted... XD I'm now more determined than ever to achieve my goal and become a violin performance major. Its one label I'd like to have^^
