Scott Stein is a pianist, singer, songwriter and composer based in New York City. Originally hailing from Akron, OH, he works in NYC as a freelance accompanist, conductor, arranger, and music instructor. As a singer/songwriter, he has released 4 independent albums, the most recent being 2009's 'Jukebox' EP, which Cleveland Independent called "perfect to sing along to". He recently wrapped up a 5-month late night residency at the East Village staple Banjo Jim's, which lead TimeOut NY to feature him in their "Late Night NYC" issue, saying "Mr. Stein plays the kind of dirty blues that might help you shed some blues of your own. He's on from 11pm until, in his own words, 'I run outta tunes, the bar closes, or the cops get called.' " He is currently in the process of finishing up orchestrations for a new chamber-pop inspired project - complete with strings, winds and horns, inspired by the likes of Randy Newman and David Ackles - to debut this summer.

In addition to his solo work, Scott also plays with a number of notable independent NYC artists including The Ramblers (for whom he co-wrote all of the tracks on their acclaimed latest album, Getting There), Food Will Win the War (recently featured on WNYC's Battle of the Boroughs), Shanna Zell (appearing on her latest EP, Coming Undone), and kids-rocker Joanie Leeds (John Lennon Songwriting Contest winner, 2010).
