Wow....never heard THIS one before!!!! Why didn't they include this on the original release!!?? The ONLY shame is that Ward's drumming is a bit lost sounding in the mix...but then, I can't help but wonder if this ever made it to the 'final mix' mode before ending up 'in the can' in favor ...

@TheJetfan1 No doubt about it!!!! I always felt 'Never Say Die' never got the accolades it deserves....even for as damaged as the band was by this time, they put more heart into this than most people consider, it's evident in Ozzy's vocals on this track...some GREAT tracks on this....

Damn....lol...Ray Gillen could've sung the goddamn PHONE BOOK, and it would've sounded majestic.....what a talent...

I can't figure why this album got so ragged on...granted, it doesn't seem as cohesive or monumental as "Headless Cross" or "Tyr," but there are some VERY choice moments on this!! And what they played of it live carried over VERY well!!

It isn't commonplace for a cover version of a song to match or even rival the original, and the original 'Fire And Rain' was always one song of James Taylor's I could always tolerate....but then...I heard THIS....and ....well, this was my reaction: O.O ...followed by 8D 'Nuff said. ;)

Ray Gillen was an ANIMAL....I've been LOVING the clips featuring his work (however brief) with Sabbath, and I positively loved what he did w/ Jake E. Lee in Badlands!

Unquestionably, one of Sabbath's GREATEST and not-oft-spoken-of tracks!!! Tony Iommi's guitar work on this could generate enough power to make a Harrier take clean the f**k off!!!

This song NEVER...EVER...fails to make me feel better about any situation I might be dealing with on any given day...(and it's been said rock music is corruptive and destructive....yeh......sure.....ohhh-kaaay....).

One thing about QR I always loved....their 'think-outside-the-box' approach to writing lyrics....songs like this just weren't written back then in quite this way!!

I don't necessarily think QR's move with this album was to 'fit in' with the other bands that were permeating the mainstream around '85-'86...sure, their 'look' on the inner sleeve bordered on laughable (and, before putting the album on; portends to the idea of what music you'd be in for)...but...

Halford is in such exquisite form here!!! I wish seeing this for myself were in the cards...but it ain't....gotta thank all you hardcore fans for posting these great vids from all over...great stuff!!!!

Vai and Vandenberg did a MORE than supremely adequate job playing the Sykes material...Sykes' soul may have occupied the notes we heard him play on those songs, but Vai and Vandenberg did plenty justice by that as well as incorporating their own.
