The merchandising they speak off is way off. Merchandising of TV shows was big time. I remember "Family Affair" alone had made millions from Buffy and Jodie's line of clothes, Mrs Beasley dolls and so forth. There is even "Leave it to Beaver" and "Donna Reed Show" merchandising. This was not true.
