Sandy Cajas was born in Guatemala and moved to Long Beach at the age of 13. After marrying her former husband Arturo Linares, a famous pianist of the Spanish ballad group "Los Freddys," she moved to Guanajuato, Mexico. Upon her return to California she attended and graduated from Chaffey Community College in Rancho Cucamonga with a degree in Consumer Sciences. Throughout this time she also served as program interim assistant director for the fashion department, and continued her education at Cal Poly Pomona through an exclusive program offered in Apparel Manufacturing.

Sandy Cajas has studied International Trade at Long Beach City College, and trained in Fashion History at Brooks College. To later develop training curriculum programs at The International Trade Vocational School in Long Beach. She serves in many Community organizations such as EMPLEO, TBAC, CALTRANS Small Business Committee, BIZFED, Saint Mary Community Hospital Community Board, Small Business Development Center Long Beach, Department of General Services Small Business Council, and The California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Southern Region Chair.

Sandy Cajas is the current President and CEO of the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce a non-profit business organization based in Long Beach, California. Ms. Cajas is the owner of "Diversity Marketing Group" where she creates multicultural programs, events, and fundraisers for ethnic communities like the Cambodian New Year Festival which brings 17,000 Cambodians to the city of Long Beach, setting a fundraising record. However, her greatest reward is her daughter Ariana now 30, her son Arthur 22, and her beautiful granddaughter Jocelyn.
