About Me:

Shapeshifting Cliché is an Indie Rock / Folk band hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. From their slow melodic songs with the saddening chime of the violin, to their upbeat songs that will keep you dancing and singing all night long! The more you listen, the more you will love the very original songs of Shapeshifting Cliché. While they are just ordinary people...they are far, far from....cliché!

I'm in the Clarksville area. If you guys start gigging, let me know. I'll be there to show some support and bring some friends. I would audition, but I'm a drummer at heart. I'm also in the Army so I know I wouldn't be able to commit 100%. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for the feed back man! We actually recorded the EP over a year ago right before we broke up. We just recently got back together, and we are actually auditioning some people for electric guitar, because we do know how it sounds kind of empty and needs some driving action! But keep checking back in man we'll have more lyrics videos up from the EP and maybe soon even record a new! Thanks again, we really appreciate the support! - Jake

Also, if you can get your string player to lay a higher string part harmonizing with the first one, it would blow people away. Drums and bass are solid and I wouldn't change them at all. I like your voice too, I keep getting like a Yellowcard/Rob Thomas mixed vibe from it.

Just a suggestion. Lay two tracks of the stringed instrument (can't tell if it's a violin or something bigger) playing the same thing twice. Don't copy/paste it, actually do two separate tracks playing the same thing. Split them and pan one all the way right, and one all the way left. You will get a much fuller sound. Toss in a little reverb and it will sound amazing. You can do this with acoustic guitars as well and it will really surprise you when you listen to the difference. Right now it just kind of sounds like it's just there in the background without any real presence. Great song and can't wait for you guys to find a guitar player. It's a little bit outside my playing genre but I can tell a slightly overdriven electric that gets heavier in the right places will really bring all this together. Looking forward to some more tunes.
