There is something about this kind of knife which appeals to the bad in me. I can't help but feel that a lock knife should be slow to open, it gives you that extra moment to think about what you're doing.

ATS-34 not a good blade steel? It's virtually the same as 15/4 ChroMoly. Both superb steels in anybody's book.
