About Me:

My father always had a harmonica or squeeze-box at hand to play for us. He had one harmonica so tiny he could hide it in his palm, to our delight. We always pretended he had performed magic.
Hometown:
the Hague, Netherlands
Country:
Canada
Occupation:
retired teacher
Companies:
T.D.S. School Board
Schools:
Brock U :: - Hon. B.A., Urban and Environmental Studies- B.of Education
Interests:
I'm a child of the Royal Conservatory of Music, having taken piano lessons and then passed the RCM Grade 8 Practical and Grade 2 Theory. At age 13 I could teach piano, theoretically. In 2002 I took courses in drum and guitar and unexpectedly discovering my musical roots.I am now interested in learning more about singing.
Movies:
We didn't go regularly to the movies like the other kids on our street - Mamma wouldn't let us see anything violent and that even included the slapstick in "The Three Stooges" which I once managed to sneak a peak at over Jo-Jo Boisvert's house. I still want to see all of the John Wayne's movies Jo-Jo was so crazy about. The first movies I ever saw were both musicals, "Mary Poppins" and the second, "The Sound of Music" - I was eleven.
Music:
Once when Elvis and Fabian and Frankie Avalon were teen idols, my girlfriends were all raving about who their favorite was. When they asked me who I like I said Mitch Miller and everybody laughed. I could have died. My mom never let us stay up late but I knew all the words to our Mitch Miller records. I know Mamma's favorite was Perry Como. She let me watch his show once when I had the stomach flu - a crummy introduction to modern music is all I can say.My first idea about what I liked in music came when I was ten. I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in February of 1964 three Sundays nights in a row - it must have been the fist time I had the nerve to monopolize the TV. I had one of the biggest collection of Beatle cards in my class. We used have trading frenzies but I never traded my Paul McCartney close-up Beatle card. I had a crush on him and on my Grade 5 teacher, Mr. Nesmith. Besides, Tommy Patterson gave it to me and he was, like, my boyfriend from Grade 1 to Grade 6, along with Patrick McCormick.
