About Me:

Random stuff about me...

I got my first drumset from 'Santa' when I was 5 (1985). I think it was an $80 JC Penny drumset. lol.
I've played ever since.

I bought the matching congas & bongos in the summer of 2004.
I got the blonde colored bongos as a Xmas present from a company I used to work for in 2006.
I still want to get a Tumba (the largest conga), a set of mini congas, & a set of mini bongos. I started out playing 3 of my 4 drums. Then 4 of my 6 drums. Then 5, then all 6. I think I'll be able to handle 11.
My Congas & Bongos are made by Meinl, and they are the Headliner series. Extremely nice & affordable.

I don't really play traditional Latin beats. I don't know how.
I just play what I feel. I couldn't teach anyone how to play. The less I pay attention to my playing, the better I play. It really is just a feeling.
It's also a lot of muscle memory. There have been many times when I've banged my elbows on the conga rims or jammed my fingers into the sides of the bongos. That rarely happens anymore, though.
Each new CD I get, is like getting a new Guitar Hero game. (for the fake musicians)

I've always played regular drums, too. I have a set of Roland Vdrums. I may make videos with those eventually, but for now, I'm sticking with the hand drums.

You may have guessed that I like rivers. lol. I've paddled over 150 miles on the lower Mississippi River, and I do a lot of long distances on smaller rivers.
