Let him use fist weapons only OR remove the animation that shows the weapons "in hand", just let them stay sheathed, and it will be no problem that he doesn't use them. Much like a WoW mage has his weapons sheathed while casting.

Reiteration: Please do not include any shared stash items in your future play throughs as the God-mode style gives an unrealistic feel to how the classes carry themselves if you start at lvl 2 with just smashing skulls due to higher lvl blues found on other toons.
