If you're a COD fanboy, or just a fan of COD in general, and you're reading this, this is what I truly think about the game. COD has always been a decent game, it's just that lately it's been getting overhyped and overrated to max, when the game isn't even that great to deserve all this praise. Like I said, COD is a decent, but it's not that great. My biggest grope about COD is that it has THE WORST community I ever seen in gaming history. We're talking kids ranging from as early as 6 years old to kids my age (18+) all shouting "faggot", "nigger", "homo", "asshole", etc, just because you did better than them or you're using a gun they don't like, the list goes on. About 90% of the players are campers, hackers, boosters, and trickshooters, while the last 10% are people like me who runs around with an assault rifle not worried about their KDR every step of the way. My next biggest gripe about COD is how stale it's gotten in recent years. You cannot deny how much MW3 looks like MW2, Black Ops, WaW, MW1, etc. Every year, we're treated with yet another stale, boring old COD that refuses to change, innovate, or address the problems that plagued the previous game. Each campaign fails to get on the level of COD 4, and instead they feel more like a Micheal Bay rip-off than you actually fighting a war. Each multiplayer is the same shit as the last. If the host happens to have lower than a 4 bar connection, the game is going to lag, which is usually all the time. There is always a problem with the hit detection and the damage system, it'll leave you wondering how Barret .50 Cal shot to the chest won't kill, but a throwing knife to the pinky toe will. The maps are about the size of my closet and each map consists of small buildings, hallways, alleyways, and slums. Each gametype involves killing each other, a bomb/bombsite, and a flag, so no creativity there. The rest of the issues for the multiplayer include overpowered killstreaks, unbalanced weapons and perks, overpriced maps packs, the list goes on and on. My next biggest grope about COD are the insidious fans that the game attracts. I'm constantly hearing about the game wherever I go, whether it's school or it's YouTube. Everyone has to reference it, which gets really annoying. Then people start to treat the game like it's their God, or some religious object. Then they turn into fanboys and start ripping on other great games like Halo, Battlefield, Fallout, any game that involves First-Person Shooting to some degree. Common arguments from COD fanboys include:
"Well, the game sold more, so obviously it's better!"
Wrong actually, that just means more retards play, and billions of dollars have been wasted. If Hitler had so many followers, did it make him a great person? No. Same with Justin Bieber.
"But the game has better graphics"
Number 1, the graphics are not the most important thing about the game, I mean look at Minecraft, terrible graphics, awesome game. Number 2, the graphics don't make the game any better, I recall Killzone 3 having amazing graphics, being an overall mediocre game, same with Resistance.
"The game runs at 60 FPS!"
Like with graphics, this doesn't make the game any better. Besides, I bet there are computers from 6 years ago, that can run games at twice the FPS as MW3.
All in all, Activision, Treyarch, Infinity Ward ruined what could have potentionally been a awesome game with an awesome campaign (one that doesn't include Russians, the Middle East, special forces, nukes, and terrorist plots against the United States) and an awesome multiplayer, but instead Activi$ion is out to make a quick buck every year, so they couldn't care less about how the game turns out, they just know that anything with Call of Duty on the case will sell. So I hope you've enjoyed my rant, and before you start calling me a fanboy of Halo or Battlefield or whatever, just know that I understand that Halo and Battlefield have their flaws and they are simply my favorite games. But to the people who say that COD is the best game ever, you've obviously never played the game or you're just too arrogant and addicted too the game to even see the slightest problem it has. End rant.
