The little village of Bethany, on the eastern slope of the Mount of Olives about 3km from Jerusalem, was a favourite place of rest and refuge for Jesus.
Here He knew the intimacy and friendship of his friends Martha, Mary and Lazarus. And here, in the cemetery just below the village, He raised Lazarus from the dead.

Martha and Mary were very sad. They felt that if Jesus had only been there, Lazarus would not have died. But Jesus told them not to be sorrowful because God was going to use this occasion to show His power and glory. Jesus said,
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." (John 11:25)
When Jesus reached the tomb where Lazarus was buried, He told the people to take away the stone that lay against the opening of the cave. Then Jesus spoke to Lazarus and said, "Lazarus, come forth." Lazarus, who had been dead four days, came forth still bound in his grave clothes. Jesus said, "Loose him, and let him go." They loosed him. Lazarus was alive and well again!
Jesus has the Power
to Forgive.He is God! (Love and Light).

It's not about me. As if You should do things my way. You alone are God and I surrender to your ways. Jesus, lover of my soul. All consuming fire is in Your gaze.
